Kerala most searched travel destination in India

Google’s Zeitgeist, a tool that reveals what the world on the Internet wants to know has revealed that Kerala has edged out Taj Mahal as the most searched travel destinations in India. Taj Mahal, which is one of the most popular travel destinations, not only in India but across the world has been pushed to the second spot by God’s own country.

Kerala Tourism, God’s Own Country

However, these stats are only about Internet search trends only. Taj Mahal still remains one of the most visited travel destinations of the country. But stats do say something. Munnar, a popular tourist destination of Kerala, is also on the list of Top 10 Indian destinations on these search trends.

Surprisingly, Wagha Border at the Indo-Pak International Border came third on the list followed by Vaishno Devi and Amarnath in Jammu. Kashmir Valley stands sixth and Munnar is at the ninth position.

Kerala at number one and the Taj Mahal at number two were followed by the Wagah Border (Punjab), Vaishno Devi and Amarnath (both in Jammu and Kashmir). Kashmir came number six on the list of Top ten travel destinations under the Google search trends for 2012. According to search trends in the travel category released by Google for this year, Munnar was number nine, followed by the Gateway of India (Mumbai).
