Thamsar Pass remains accessible only for a window of four months between June-September. Shepherds and trekking enthusiast frequently visit that area.
The vegetation in the region includes Deodars, Spruce, Oaks, Pine and mixed Conifer forests.
The wide variety of fauna present in the region includes Himalayan Tee Pie, Himalayan Ibex, Cheer, Pheasant, Civet etc.
The best time to visit the sanctuary is from April to October.
