In India too, thanks to its wonderful geographical position, you can find innumerable picturesque waterfalls that are simply enchanting and worth at least a visit. Although there are way too many waterfalls in India to be visited in one’s lifetime, still we have tried to make this mammoth task a bit easier for you by listing few of the most enchanting ones—
10) Chachai Falls, Madhya Pradesh
Hidden in the natural treasure trove named Madhya Pradesh, Chachai Falls is indeed a treat to all the wanderlusts’ eyes and senses. Located in the Rewa district, Chachai falls is known to be the 23rd highest falls in the country, gushing down from a mammoth height of 130 meters!
9) Shivanasamudra Falls, Karnataka
Shivanasamudra is located in Karnataka, a state proudly referred to as the ‘State of Waterfalls in India!’ This waterfall lies adjacent to another gushing waterfall, the Cauvery Falls, and together, during the monsoons, they discharge about 19 million liters of water every second! However, if you’re planning a visit there during the summers, don’t be disheartened for Shivanasamudra and Cauvery Falls cut an equally awe inspiring picture during the summers!

Kerala is as much about misty hills as it is about the placid backwaters! And, what is a hill station all about without some mesmerizing waterfalls? The Athirapally Falls is one such beautiful falls in this “God’s own country”. Located in the Thissur district, visit this place during a quaint cloudy day—trust us; it’s a scene to behold!
7) Bhimtal Falls, Rajasthan
If you thought that Rajasthan was all about palaces, forts and sand dunes, it’s time to change your opinion. Bhimtal falls is one of the country’s most picturesque falls and gushes down near Bundi. Although it gushes down from a height of just 60 meters, still it cuts a perfect picture, especially during the monsoons!
6) Jang Falls, Arunachal Pradesh
Located at a quaint village named Jang in Arunachal Pradesh, the whole area surrounding this waterfall pronounces peace and sanctity! Also known as Nuranang Falls and Bong Bong falls, Jang Falls gushes down from a height of 100 meters, and to visit this place, you got to trek around 200 mts to the Jang Village!
5) Nohkalikai Falls, Meghalaya
Gushing down a mammoth height of 340 meters, the Nohkalikai Falls is regarded as the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Located in Cherrapunji, this waterfall demands a visit at least once, and if it’s the monsoons that you’re planning your visit in, then you’re surely in for an aesthetic treat!
4) Dudhsagar Falls, Goa
Well, is there anything left to say about the grand Dudhsagar Falls? Located in Goa, right at the Goa-Karnataka border, if you want to savor the best of this falls, go here for a trek! And, if possible, visit during the monsoons. We bet it’ll be a lifetime experience. However, you can also go on a boat ride at the base of this falls to experience its majesty.
3) Hogenakkal Falls, Tamil Nadu
It’s one of the most beautiful and enchanting waterfalls the country has, and is located right on the river Cauvery in Tamil Nadu. Referred to as the Niagara Falls of India, Hogenakkal Falls is best visited through a coracle ride—indeed an experience to preserve for a lifetime!
2) Chitrakoot Falls, Chattisgarh
One of the most visited and most picturesque waterfalls in India, the Chitrakoot Falls is also regarded as the Niagara Falls of India by many. Gushing down a height of 29 meters, Chitrakut falls is known more for its massive breadth than height. The heavily forested area and the rocky terrain make the whole scenery vivid and grand!
1) Jog Falls, Karnataka
The second highest plunge waterfall in India, Jog Fall is located Sagara taluk and falls from a height of 253 meters. Although you may visit this place for an enchanting view throughout the year, but if it is monsoon you’re planning your visit in, then you’re up for a grand and enchanting visual treat indeed!
