Located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh near the Solan town Shilli Wildlife Sanctuary is a well known sanctuary in Himachal Pradesh. It was notified in the revenue records on 27 March 1974.

Spread over an area of 2.14 sq km. The sanctuary is blessed with very rare species of flora and fauna.

Covered by different shades of green grass the sanctuary has many different varieties of trees. The sanctuary is mostly covered by dry Deciduous and Ban Oak forests.

Fauna includes Barking Deer, Goral, Common Langur, Indian Porcupine etc.

There are many good hotels around the sanctuary including many government rest houses for the tourists visiting the sanctuary.

Kuthar Fort, YungDrung Monastery, and Mohan Shakti Peeth are the nearest travel attractions around this Sanctuary. The Mohan Shakti Peeth lies 5KM from the National Highway-22, towards Shimla. A road branches off from the Salogda Village, which takes you to the other side of the Ashwini Khadd.

The Shakti Peeth intends to build huge temples and some of them are already completed. These temples resemble the temples at the Akshardham Temple in Delhi.

A retired Army Officer is the man behind this enterprise and it is one of the must visit places around the Shilli Wildlife Sanctuary.
