Raj Mahal Palace
At an arms distance form MH-21, and right in the middle of the city of Mandi, you are sure to be recommended to visit this joint, on asking the locals. It’s an old palace that is situated away from the noise and the crowds in the city. It has a well kept garden, with tracks from the 80’s and 90’s playing in the background. A lovely place to have an early morning breakfast, while breathing in the fresh mountain air and also ideal for a late night dinner if your don’t mind a few mosquitoes.
Food is evenly priced, with large portions, as a golden rule when travelling in the hills, always stick to the regulars. Small towns and motels are not the ideal place to try something new. The customer service needs a special mention, as the staff is eager to serve and please. Well placed to explore the city around.
Located in the Seri Bazaar, it is a must visit for tourists who like bakery goods and are looking for a place to enjoy a good cup of coffee. You have a wide range of cuisines to choose from and they offer quite a
spread. The rates are pretty reasonable and food fresh most of the times. The place is known to keep coming up with new food themes and products to attract customers.
Is located at Rewalsar, about 30mins drive from Mandi city. It is right opposite the Nyingmapa gompa and known all around for its delicious momos and thupka. The location on the balcony adds to the old world charm of the small eatery.
Kora Community café
Located close to the Rewalsar Lake, it is a small but clean café very close to the Hotel Lotus Lake. Tourists are often seen here relishing Tibetan snacks and a simple veg thali.
For those of you who have been to these places, your personal stories and reviews about the outlets and the food is most welcome. Feedback eagerly awaited !
