Situated in the midway of Sangla valley and Chitkul near the Rampur town, viagra 100mg Rakchham Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most famous sanctuaries in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Spread over an area of 34 sq km, link the place is a heaven for trekkers and wildlife lovers.

Situated at an altitude of 5500 m, the wildlife sanctuary was established in the year 1962.There are many ancient temples located in and around the sanctuary. The sanctuary lies in the Higher ranges of the Himalayas and the famous Kinner-Kailash peak lies in the same region.

There are many trekkin routes that go through this sanctuary and one of them is the treacherous Lamkhanga Pass that connects the Kinnaur region of Himachal to the state of  Uttarakhand in the Gangotri region. Chittkul happens to be the last village of India on the Indo-Tibet border in Kinnaur and that very reason attracts many tourists and bikers to this sanctuary.

The sanctuary is very famous for its weather; like other sanctuaries in Himachal Pradesh, it doesn’t experience monsoons, as the sanctuary is placed under dry zone. The tourists can visit the sanctuary anytime in the year.The vegetation includes Dry Scrub forests. The wildlife includes Leopard, Blue Sheep, Musk Deer, Goral, Himalayan and Black Bear.

 

The months from May to November are the best time to visit the sanctuary. Trekking facilities offered in the form of trekking camps, to the adventure sport lovers by the district administration. There are many rest houses including PWD rest houses present in and around the sanctuary.
